4 Fall Activities You Can Drive to Near Livingston, TX

Lake Livingston State Park

This Texas state park in Livingston is a beautiful place to bird-watch, hike, bike, and camp in autumn. If you plan to stay a day or two, you can reserve a tent site or screened shelter. While you’re there, fish for perch, crappie, and catfish in Lake Livingston. Covering more than 90,000 acres, it’s the second-largest lake in Texas. You can even rent a double kayak to use during your visit.

Lake Livingston State Park is located at 300 Park Road 65, and it’s open every day from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is $6 per day for guests ages 13 and older. Don’t forget to check the calendar for interesting ranger programs.

Trade Days at Pedigo Park

Livingston began holding this fun seasonal community market in 1999. Shop for local and handmade goods while you snack on funnel cake and other items from hundreds of different vendors. You’ll find antiques, fine art, vintage items, jewelry, and so much more. Kids can enjoy tractor rides, jump in the bounce house, and get their faces painted.

Fall 2023 Trade Days will take place October 14 and 15 and November 18 and 19. Parking and admission are free for this family event. Joe Pedigo City Park is located at 925 US 59 Bypass N.

Livingston Farmer’s Market

This weekly Saturday farmer’s market will start up again on the first Saturday in October. It runs from 7 a.m. until at least 10 a.m. at Anniversary Park. You’ll find local produce, baked goods, salsa, jam, and other delicious foods. Anniversary Park is located at the intersection of Tyler Ave and E Mill St.

Double Creek Farm

You can visit this Livingston farm for fun throughout October when it transforms into an adorable pumpkin patch. Once you get the perfect pick for your jack o’lantern, stick around for duck races, a fire pit, games, a bounce house, a sandbox, a fort, and a playhouse. Take a relaxing hayride and end your visit by browsing the gift shop for seasonal decor.

Double Creek Farm is located at 1288 Oakdale Loop. Admission costs $7 for visitors ages 3 and older. Leashed dogs are welcome at the farm. It’s open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and 1 to 6 p.m. on Sundays in October, with snow cones and other snacks for sale.
